Battles Are Won in Prayer

WWII brought many heroes home. Many came home to receive a Silver Star. One young soldier shared his story as he was praised for his courage. When asked how he went into battle without flinching, he mentioned his mother. He said, “My mother wrote to me often and mentioned that she had set up a time each day to pray for me. I knew the very hour my mother prayed. I went into battle confident knowing that at that very moment, she was interceding for me."

He finished by saying “Battles are won through prayer”.

The greatest prayer warrior you and I have is Jesus, Himself. Our Savior, Christ the one to whom all authority in heaven and on earth has been given, is always before the Father on our behalf. I think of what he told Peter, “Satan has asked to sift you. But I have prayed for you!”

The prayers of Jesus on behalf of His children are powerful and effective. Satan can’t win when we have Jesus interceding for us!

After Him, we are given the Holy Spirit, “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” Romans 8:26. This is the one-two punch God delivers to his enemy on behalf of His own.

We also pray as we labor together in ministry, as brothers and sisters in Christ. This work that God has called us to do together is supported, advanced, protected, and enlarged as we pray together. Just as the young soldier knew to advance at the hour of prayer, we too advanced this week in the “hour of prayer”.

These precious women who come to our clinics have no idea of the buttress of prayer they are entering! Advocates, nurses, sonographers, and staff are surrounded by hundreds of amens! Oh, the power and the provision of prayer are endless as Jesus takes our requests and joins us in the intercession! Imagine our feeble and imperfect prayers, perfected by the Perfect One as He intercedes for us!

On behalf of all of us here, thank you for joining us in prayer this week!
