Recent stories from our clinics…and prayer requests

woman and baby at beach

This was Patient 8435’s story in June:  A 24 year old young woman came with her boyfriend. The boyfriend was adamant that she should have an abortion and told her that their relationship “isn’t a given” if she has the baby. Her mother is encouraging her to have the abortion as well. She told the advocate that she couldn’t forgive herself if she had the abortion and bravely chose to keep the baby even with all the pressure. She has started continuing care.

Her story now: Patient has been coming for continuing even though the boyfriend and mother were still pressuring her to have an abortion. Advocate offered to have the father of the baby and her mother come for another ultrasound (U/S) and the patient agreed. The boyfriend came to the U/S, but mother did not. After the U/S, the father of the baby changed his mind and will now support his girlfriend and the baby. He said he was “stressed about it, but we’ll make it through.” Since the appointment, he has embraced the pregnancy and his fatherhood role. He even agreed to view our educational Fatherhood video series!

Patient continues to meet withAdvocate and has been open to having her pray for her, baby and FOB at the end of the session, but has not yet allowed her to speak about spiritual things. Please pray as Advocate walks along side her, that the Lord will soften her heart towards Him and Advocate will be able to share the gospel.

Please continue to pray for several women who left theclinic still abortion-minded; here are just two of their stories.

“Tina” is married, took Plan B, and was not happy to find that she was pregnant. Her husband would like her to have the baby, but told her he would support her in whatever decision she made. Tina stated that she was a Christian and had had one previous abortion that she regrets. She was too early for an ultrasound.

Pray that she will come back for the ultrasound andthat the Lord will speak to her heart and she will choose life for her baby.

Pray for “Ada” who left still considering abortion. She has two children and had difficult pregnancies, along with severe post-partum depression requiring hospitalization. She does not want to suffer this again. Her husband travels weekly for his job and she has no support (she is from another country). Pray that she will return for her ultrasound and that the resources we offered her, including our continuing care will make a difference in her choosing life for her baby.
